Just beyond 35 miles northwest of Chicago cutting in between Cook and Kane County of Illinois, Elgin can be described as a family-friendly neighborhood settling right along Fox River. Being first settled in the year 1835 by early pilgrims James T. Gifford and his brother Hezekiah, Elgin has slowly transformed into a family-centered area for families and individuals looking to purchase properties and settle down.
